Group Outing to JC Raulston Arboretum: April 2, 2022

Meetings

2 Mar

Calling all nature lovers and lovers of Austen! Join JASNA-NC on April 2nd at 2 p.m. for a chance to meet up and take in the sights of Spring at JC Raulston Arboretum. We’ll gather together to read passages from Austen’s novels as we take in the “most perfect refreshment”: time together, natural beauty, and Jane Austen! This event will be led by Co-Regional Coordinator Sara Tavela and member Mary Curry (who has just finished writing a book on Austen and Nature!), with insights on British Romanticism and time to revel in the glories of Spring and of Jane Austen’s prose. Let us know if you are interested in attending, and for those who wish to come but are too far removed from the Raleigh area, the event will be filmed and shared with members after it takes place (so no one has to miss out!). We look forward to seeing you there!

‘To sit in the shade on a fine day and look upon verdure is the most perfect refreshment.’
